Go Blue! Go Gold! Go Eagles!

Go Blue! Go Gold! Go Eagles!

Eaglefest 2022 kicked off with a sea of blue shirts as students PK4 through grade 12 paraded onto the field. With parents and families in the stands, teachers cheering on their classes and students bursting wtih school spirit, the day was framed with an absolutely beautiful day for our SBS community to enjoy the festivities.

“In honoring the EagleFest traditions established in 2007, the Blue/Gold Competition was brought back outside on the athletic fields, allowing the classes to parade onto the field before competing for the coveted 2021-2022 Spirit Award winner,” said Director of Advancement Dyanne Kimmel. “A tiebreaker was needed this year to proclaim the winner, so it was only fitting that the senior class compete one last time to break the tie.” Blue team came away victorious!

Following the field games, families enjoyed a picnic followed by the fun-filled carnival while upperclassmen competed in competitive Powderpuff games of volleyball and football. From pony rides to the dunk tank, it was a carnival to remember. As the day ended, students of all ages gradually trickled off campus, blissfully tired, happy and full of new memories made together.

Where did it all begin?

Dyanne Kimmel shares, “The first EagleFest took place in 2007. Former student and SBS parent Lisa Zook and her husband Christopher envisioned an event that would pull the whole SBS community together and create a strong tradition for our families to look forward to each year. Motivated by her love for SBS and how SBS blessed her as a student, Lisa created a tradition that has become the most anticipated day of the school year.”

The tradition continues on as students begin the countdown to the next EagleFest when they get to do it all over again.

A multitude of thanks to our EagleFest chairs and our parent and faculty/staff volunteers who make a day like this possible!
